In 2014, Oris launched the 110 movement to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the brand’s birth, marking Oris’ return to the path of independent research and development of movements; this year, Oris will launch a completely independently developed 111 movement. Open a new chapter in the history of Oris’ extraordinary watchmaking.
In 2014, at the 110th anniversary of the establishment of Oris, and also the 35th year after the last self-developed movement, Oris launched a unique manual winding 110 movement. Its 10-day power reserve function and non-linear power reserve display, as well as a single spring mechanism, are sufficient to maintain Oris’s reputation as an innovator, and it also marks the return of independent Swiss watchmaking company Oris to the development of the movement.
In 2015, the Oris111 movement will continue this story. Over the years, Oris has invested heavily in rebuilding the brand’s glorious watchmaking tradition. Calibre 110 has only 220 units produced due to limited release, while Oris Calibre 111 components will be produced in large quantities by Oris in cooperation with Switzerland’s top microtech companies.
Oris’s patented non-linear kinetic energy indicating device is located at three o’clock and the hands display from 10 to 0.
Calibre 111 movement will be presented in four models. Following the 10-day power reserve and non-linear kinetic energy display of the 110 movement, the diameter of the 43 mm watch is matched with a stainless steel or 18K rose gold case, which has more material options. The difference between Calibre 111 and Calibre 110 is the addition of a calendar display. Stainless steel models are available in silver-gray and ultraviolet black-gold dial colors, while rose gold models are available in opal silver-gold and maroon dials.
Through the sapphire glass rear mirror, we can clearly see the 111 movement independently developed by Oris.
All four models are equipped with sapphire glass and back, and are waterproof to 30 meters. The 18K rose gold model comes with a brown or gray alligator leather strap, while the stainless steel version comes with a black alligator leather strap or stainless steel strap. It is expected to be available in October 2015.
